Custom Packaging at Atomix

Guidelines and requirements for using branded or custom packaging, inserts, and marketing materials for your orders.

At Atomix, we encourage brands to provide a unique unboxing experience. You can use your own custom boxes, mailers, and inserts. Our warehouse team will follow your specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure every order is packed according to your brand standards.

Types of Custom Materials Supported

  • Branded Mailers: Poly-mailers or compostable mailers with your logo and design.

  • Custom Boxes: Specific sizes or branded corrugated boxes.

  • Marketing Inserts: Thank you cards, discount codes, stickers, or seasonal flyers.

  • Internal Protection: Branded tissue paper, custom dunnage, or specific void fill requirements.

Operational Requirements

To implement custom packaging successfully, the following steps must be completed:

1. SKU Creation

Every piece of custom packaging or insert must be created as a SKU in the Atomix platform. This allows the system to:

  • Track inventory levels of your packaging.

  • Trigger "Out of Stock" alerts when you need to reorder.

  • Allocate the correct materials to each order automatically.

2. SOP Documentation

You must provide clear instructions on how to use the packaging.

  • Visuals: We strongly recommend uploading photos or a short video of a "perfectly packed" order.

  • Logic: Specify if certain inserts only go into first-time orders or orders over a specific dollar amount.

3. Storage and Receiving

Custom packaging is treated as inventory. You must:

  • Create a Receiving shipment in the Atomix App before sending packaging materials.

  • Schedule the delivery via the Conduit system.

  • Ensure all bundles or boxes of packaging are labeled with the correct ASN.

Standard vs. Custom Packaging

If you do not provide custom packaging, Atomix provides standard, non-branded materials:

  • Standard Mailers: Plain white or grey poly-mailers.

  • Standard Boxes: Plain brown corrugated boxes (various sizes).

  • Standard Dunnage: Kraft paper or clear air pillows.

Note: Use of standard Atomix packaging may incur a small per-order material fee.

Important Considerations

  • Dimensional Weight: Remember that larger custom boxes may increase your shipping costs due to Dimensional (DIM) weight calculations.

  • Inventory Monitoring: It is the brand's responsibility to monitor packaging levels. If you run out of custom mailers, Atomix will default to standard packaging to avoid shipping delays unless otherwise instructed.
