Order Status Explained

A comprehensive guide to understanding each stage of the order fulfillment lifecycle within the Atomix platform.

To manage your fulfillment effectively, it is important to understand the specific meaning of each order status. These statuses reflect the real-time progress of an order from the moment it is received until it reaches the carrier.

Order Statuses

Primary Order Statuses

Received

The order has been successfully imported into the Atomix system from your online store or created manually. At this stage:

  • The order is waiting to be processed.

  • Inventory has not yet been allocated.

  • Edits and cancellations can still be made.

Awaiting Fulfillment

The order has passed initial validation and is now queued for the warehouse floor.

  • At this stage, the system is preparing to allocate inventory and generate a pick list.

  • Edits and cancellations may still be possible.

Processing

The order has been sent to the warehouse floor for fulfillment.

  • Our team is currently picking and packing the items.

  • Important: Once an order moves to "Processing," no further edits or cancellations can be made.

Shipped

The order has been packed, the shipping label has been generated, and the package is ready for carrier pickup.

  • Tracking information is now available.

  • The order is officially completed in the Atomix system.

Action Required Statuses

If an order falls into one of these categories, it requires intervention before it can move to the warehouse floor:

Needs Review

Something is preventing the order from being processed. Common reasons include:

  • Address Issues: The shipping address is missing information or is invalid.

  • SKU Mapping: An item in the order is not correctly mapped in the Atomix system.

  • Shipping Method: The requested shipping service from your store does not match an Atomix service level.

On Hold

The order has been manually or automatically paused.

  • This is often used if a brand wants to delay a specific shipment or if there is a pending question regarding the order details.

  • Orders in "On Hold" will not move to "Processing" until the hold is removed.

Out of Stock

The order contains one or more items that do not have enough physical inventory in the warehouse to fulfill the request.

  • The order will remain in this status until a new "Receiving" shipment is processed and inventory levels are updated.

Cancelled

The order has been voided and will not be fulfilled.

  • This action can only be performed by the brand or Atomix staff while the order is in the "Received" or "Needs Review" stages.
