Lot tracking is a method of inventory management that allows businesses to trace specific batches or groups of products through the supply chain. It involves assigning unique identifiers to particular production runs or shipments.

Why is lot tracking important for inventory management?

Lot tracking is crucial for several reasons:

  • Quality control: It helps identify and isolate faulty products quickly.

  • Regulatory compliance: Many industries require detailed product traceability.

  • Expiration date management: It allows better control of perishable goods.

  • Recall management: It enables precise and efficient product recalls if necessary.

  • Supply chain visibility: It provides insights into product movement and history.

Which brand categories should consider implementing lot tracking?

  • Food and beverage products

  • Pharmaceuticals and healthcare items

  • Cosmetics and personal care products

  • Electronics and technology products

  • Automotive parts and components

What information does Atomix require to enable lot tracking?

Atomix requires only three key pieces of data to implement lot tracking:

  • Receiving information - Product list

  • Lot number

  • Expiration date for each SKU

How can you set up Lot Tracking for your Inventory?

Implementing lot tracking with Atomix is a simple process. You only need to provide three key data points: the receiving information (product list), lot number, and expiration date for each SKU. Once you have this information ready, contact your Onboarding specialist or Account manager, and they will enable lot tracking for your inventory.

After lot tracking is activated, you can easily access lot information for each product in your inventory. When you view a SKU's details, you'll see the associated lot number, quantity available from that particular lot and expiration date displayed alongside other product information. This allows for quick reference and efficient management of your lot-tracked inventory items.

This streamlined approach allows you to quickly set up and manage lot tracking, enhancing your inventory control with minimal effort.
