Atomix uses the data you provide to purchase shipping labels, choose the correct carrier, and ship your package correctly. It is the responsibility of each brand/client to provide accurate weights and measurements, and to make any changes to their inventory sizes/weights if needed.

When creating inventory in the Atomix platform, product weight must be correctly input in OUNCES. Dimensions of the product must be recorded correctly in INCHES.

Incorrect product weights and sizes can cause a host of problems. Carefully read through the requirements below, which apply both to packaging and to inventory SKUs, and reach out to our team via Intercom with any questions.

WEIGHT REQUIREMENTS

  • Requirement: Product weight is entered accurately in ounces

FAILURE TO MEET WEIGHT REQUIREMENT

  • Product has been uploaded in lbs, instead of oz

  • Product weight is '0'

  • Product weight is incorrect (too light or too heavy)

CONSEQUENCES

  • Expensive shipping adjustments (billed quarterly) for incorrect weights from carrier, applied to every package with an incorrect weight

  • Penalty fee for adjustment, applied to every package with an incorrect weight

  • Package can not be delivered (USPS)

  • The item weight is incorrect and so a weight-based rule does not apply to the shipment. The item then ships out with the wrong weight, AND/OR and is returned to sender due to insufficient postage.

  • The item ships out with a heavier weight and the price of the shipping label is higher than it needs to be

  • $30 Return to Sender charge from Atomix on any orders that cannot be delivered due to insufficient postage

INVENTORY DIMENSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Requirement: Inventory (including packaging) is entered accurately in inches

FAILURE TO MEET WEIGHT REQUIREMENT

  • Product has been uploaded in centimeters, or feet instead of inches

  • ANY of the product dimensions are '0'

  • Product dimensions are incorrect (larger or smaller)

CONSEQUENCES

  • Expensive shipping adjustments (billed quarterly) for incorrect size, applied to every package with incorrect dimensions

  • Penalty fees for adjustment, applied to every package with an incorrect dimensions

  • Package can not be delivered, because the carrier or service cannot ship larger parcels (USPS, DHL)

  • The dimensions are incorrect and the correct packaging is not mapped to your product. The product then ships in a box that is larger than necessary and is more expensive

  • The item ships out with the wrong dimensions and is returned to sender due to insufficient postage

  • The item ships out with a larger box than necessary, and the client pays extra for more dimensional weight

  • $30 Return to Sender charge from Atomix on any orders that cannot be delivered due to insufficient postage or carrier exceptions due to incorrect box or parcel size
