How Does Custom Packaging Work at Atomix?
All custom packaging items must:
Be entered as SKUs in the Atomix App.
Have a proper Receiving Shipment created before arrival.
Be barcoded (if necessary) and tracked as inventory.
When an order requires a custom packaging workflow—beyond standard pick/pack—it becomes either a Kitting Project or a Special Project, depending on complexity.
What's the Difference Between Kitting and Special Projects?
Note: The Atomix team will determine whether your request falls under a kitting or special project classification based on frequency, complexity, and packaging needs.
Handwritten Gift Notes
Want to add a special touch? Atomix offers handwritten gift note fulfillment, which can be added per order via our App or through your Shopify integration.
Pricing:
1–100 characters: $2.50
101–200 characters: $5.00
201–300 characters: $7.50
301–400 characters: $10.00
Add $2.50 for every additional 100 characters
You may use custom note cards (must be submitted as a SKU), or default to Atomix-branded cards.
Managing Custom Packaging Inventory
Custom packaging materials should be restocked proactively. They are tracked like any other SKU, and Atomix will:
Alert you when levels are low (optional notification setup)
Store unused materials in your designated Fulfillment Pod
Apply custom packaging automatically via Rules Engine logic (if configured)

Standard pick & pack includes Atomix-branded packaging only.
Custom packaging workflows require:
SOPs created during onboarding or submitted mid-cycle
All custom materials to be available onsite and inventoried
Special Projects and Kitting are billed at $60/hour, with a 1-hour minimum.
SOP turnaround: 2–3 days to finalize post-submission
