This guide will walk you through the process of adding the Atomix team to your Shopify store and granting them the necessary permissions to install and develop apps for your business.
What You'll Need
Admin access to your Shopify store
The Atomix team email: [email protected]
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Access User Permissions in Shopify
Log in to your Shopify admin panel
Click on Settings in the bottom left corner
Select Users and permissions from the settings menu
2. Add the Atomix Team Account
In the Users and permissions section, click the Add user button
Enter the Atomix team email: [email protected]
Choose the appropriate staff role:
Select an existing role with app management permissions, or
Create a new staff role specifically for Atomix (recommended)
3. Create a Custom Staff Role for Atomix (If Needed)
Click on Add a custom role
Name the role (e.g., "Atomix Developer")
Under the Apps and sales channels section, you have two options:
β Option A: Grant Full App Access (Recommended)
β
βEnable Manage and install apps and channels
Enable Approve app charges
This option allows Atomix to:
Install new apps and manage existing ones
Add, access, or delete apps and channels
Access any new apps installed in the future
Install additional themes from the Shopify Theme Store
Approve any charges associated with apps they install
Option B: Grant Specific App Access
Instead of full access, you can check specific apps and sales channels
Note: With this option, Atomix cannot install or delete apps
You will need to update permissions whenever you want Atomix to access newly installed apps
Configure any other permissions as needed (for Store content, Products, etc.)
Click Save to create the role
4. Send the Invitation
After selecting or creating the appropriate role, click Send invite
The Atomix team will receive an email invitation to join your store
Once they accept, they'll have access according to the permissions you've granted
Important Notes
The "Manage and install apps and channels" permission is necessary for Atomix to properly develop and test custom apps for your store
The "Approve app charges" permission is required if Atomix needs to install paid apps or themes with associated costs
For security, consider limiting other permissions not related to app development
You can modify Atomix's permissions at any time by returning to Settings β Users and permissions
