Moving your inventory to a new 3PL provider might seem daunting, but it's a breeze with Atomix. You'll have a dedicated Onboarding Specialist and Slack Channel to ensure your transition is as smooth and worry-free as possible.

1. Migrating your Inventory to Atomix

At Atomix, we recommend two primary approaches to inventory transition:

The New Shipment Plan

If you're expecting a new production run, have it shipped directly to Atomix. This method is ideal as it minimizes disruption to your current operations.

The Partial Shipment Plan

Send at least 50% of your current inventory from your existing 3PL to Atomix before your full transition. This strategy ensures we have enough stock to fulfill orders without interruption, preventing any store downtime.

Why send half of your inventory first? It's simple - this approach keeps your business running smoothly during the transition. You'll avoid the dreaded "out of stock" scenario and maintain consistent sales, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.

Please make sure to review our Receiving Guidelines before you send any inventory to Atomix.

2. Booking Freight for your Inventory Move

You can easily book your freight directly through the Atomix App

By doing so, you'll benefit from our exclusive carrier partnerships and competitive freight rates. Plus, you'll avoid the hassle of coordinating between third-party logistics providers and various carriers. Let us streamline your shipping experience.

  • To book Domestic Freight click here.

  • To book International Freight click here.

After submitting our form, you'll be promptly contacted by one of our experts - either your account manager or your onboarding specialist. We will provide you with a quote and present you with a range of carrier and freight provider options. Once you've reviewed and approved the quote, and made your carrier selection, we'll take care of arranging the pickup for you. Once we share the BOL, you will be required to create a receiving shipment in our App.

3. Connecting your Store

During onboarding, we'll configure and connect your online store to the Atomix App in the weeks leading up to your official launch. Don't worry; this does not mean you'll have double fulfillment issues. We will only activate your store integrations once:

  1. Your fulfillment date is confirmed

  2. All onboarding requirements are completed

4. Assigning Inventory in your Store to Atomix

Important for Shopify users: You'll need to create a dedicated Atomix location in your Shopify settings and allocate your inventory to that location at least 1 day prior to your go live fulfillment date with Atomix.

If you plan to divide your fulfillment between multiple 3PLs, please notify your Onboarding Specialist. We can help set this up whether you're:

  • Splitting specific SKUs between providers

  • Using different providers based on geographic locations

  • Important note about bundle fulfillment: If we only have some of the items needed for a bundle order, the system will automatically flag these orders as "needs review" or place them on hold. We cannot ship incomplete bundles. However, you can modify the order on your end to list individual SKUs that we have in stock, allowing us to fulfill those items.

This information helps us configure your account accurately for split fulfillment between different companies and facilities.

5. Configuring your EDI connections for Wholesale / Retail PO's

Your Onboarding Specialist will walk you through all the necessary steps to configure any EDI connections. A couple important notes are below:

  • We partner with SPS Commerce for EDI connections

  • You'll need to either have an edi partner or establish one

  • The complete EDI setup typically takes 4-6 weeks to implement

Before we can connect with your system, you must first establish or confirm your EDI integration.

A Superior, Guided Onboarding Experience Awaits

At Atomix, we've successfully transitioned countless businesses, and we're ready to do the same for you. Our experienced team anticipates potential challenges and has contingency plans in place to address any issues quickly and efficiently.

Remember, while moving your operations from a third party to Atomix might seem like a big step, with the help of your dedicated Onboarding Specialist, it's just a small hop to better operations. We're here to make it easy, efficient, and worry-free.
